Your year will begin with a couple of training shifts with my current assistant where she’ll show you the ropes of the front desk systems. You’ll then take on assisting shifts with me. Assisting me includes; setting up our stations and carts, shampooing, blowouts, toning/shadow-roots, co-coloring, removing and prepping extensions, checking out and rescheduling guests. Throughout your program we’ll work on your skills and timing. We’ll give you an opportunity shift to begin building your clientele and as the program goes on, more opportunity shifts will be added.
Hourly + tips. Tips are based on performance and hitting our daily goals. During your opportunity shifts you’ll continue to make hourly, however you’ll also have the chance to earn commission on retail sold and keep 100% of the tips you receive from guests.
You’ll begin with 1 shift a week and will build to 3 opportunity shifts a week by the end of the program as you transition onto the floor on your own. During these shifts you’ll focus on excellent customer service, perfecting your skills, educating your guests on proper at home care and re-booking.
Think of this program as a paid internship. You’re able to step into your new career with a mentor to guide you. I’ll provide you with all the tools to build your skills, you just have to provide the drive! We’ll begin with mannequin work, move onto models, taking your own guests and working with my guests beside me. Once your foundational skills are set, we’ll begin to focus on different techniques, speed and efficiency. Social media, marketing and branding play HUGE roles in building your new business. We’ll spend a good amount of one-on-one time on this area to make sure we’re finding you your ideal clientele.
Because this is our specialty, you may end up learning more than you’ll ever want to know about hair extensions. This position is ideal for someone also looking to work or specialize in extensions as well. During your program, you’ll learn proper removal, washing, prepping, blowouts/styling and coloring of extensions. If you decide you want to pursue extension work, then we'll recommend the Harper Ellis Method Training & Certification.
Perfect! This position is great for both. Being fresh out of cosmetology school can be intimidating. Let’s build on what they taught you and make you a rockstar! Just moved to Nashville? Re-building a clientele can be tough when you don’t know anyone. Randi-Rae has been there and re-build quicker than she could’ve imagined. She'd love to guide you with tips and tricks that have helped her along the way.
Randi-Rae has been a stylist since 2007. In 2017 she moved to Nashville from Seattle completely re-building, re-branding and has grown into a six-figure stylist and salon owner. She's all about education and staying up-to-date and relevant on techniques and styles. Another area she completely geeks out on is tracking numbers and growth. We set daily, weekly, monthly and annual goals to achieve the growth and dream income we’re looking for. Building those around her and seeing their success is what drives her.
DRIVEN! We cannot stress that enough. We can give you all the tools to be a total badass, but you have to want it. Our assistant babes dress the part, trendy and professional with hair and make-up on point. They’re attentive and aware of their surroundings; making sure the team is good, knowing the schedule, caught up on chores, and salon is clean. Any down time is spent practicing, learning, observing or working on social media (not just scrolling).

Q: What would you like to share with future assistants?
A: Take full advantage of all the opportunities thrown at you and don’t be afraid to ask questions. At the end of this program you will walk away with so much knowledge in all aspects of being a stylist!
Time to submit your application. I’ll review your application and get back to you within 72 hours to set up a coffee date. If we both decide it feels like a good fit then we'll have you come to the salon and meet the team. A shadow day is a great way to see if we all vibe!
